The Columbus site, created in 1988 by Hirschvogel, was acquired by the Walor Group on July 8, 2024. It strengthens our presence in North America. With its modern facilities, this site is dedicated to the production of high-precision metal components for the automotive industry.
Walor North America stands out for its expertise in the manufacturing of forged and machined parts. Every year, it produces a wide range of essential components for light and utility vehicles:
- Manufactured Products: Connecting rods, transmission parts (gears, drive shafts, gearbox components), chassis components (steering and suspension systems).
- Technologies Used: Hot and cold forging, precision machining.
- Annual Production Quantity: Processing of several thousand tons of steel and production of millions of forged, treated, and machined parts.
The activity of the Columbus site is entirely dedicated to the automotive market, producing steel parts for light and utility vehicles. The factory has historical and varied expertise:
- Hot and Cold Forging: Use of advanced technologies to produce robust and precise parts.
- Precision Machining: Machining techniques ensuring strict tolerances and high performance.
- Surface Treatment: Including processes such as degreasing, pickling, phosphating, soaping, graphitization, shot blasting, and protective coating.
- Heat Treatment: Processes including carburizing, carbonitriding, quenching, and tempering.
The Columbus site benefits from a machining and grinding workshop, which complements its range of skills, delivering semi-finished or raw forged products, ready to be assembled by equipment manufacturers or automotive constructors. The factory also has a fully integrated in-house process, from surface treatment of steel coils to final machining and surface treatment, thus offering a real productivity advantage.
Main Productions:
- Engine Components: Connecting rods.
- Transmission Components: Gears, drive shafts, gearbox components.
- Chassis Components: Parts for steering and suspension systems.
- Braking Systems: Pistons.
- Steering Columns: Sleeves and crosses.
Thanks to its integration into the Walor Group, the Columbus site continues to grow, offering innovative and sustainable solutions for the automotive industry.
